About Us

We see potential, not limitations.

K2 Adventures Foundation is a sister organization to our travel company, K2 Adventure Travel. Both of our organizations are inspired by an unwavering belief in the limitless potential of the human spirit.

For over a decade, we have been working to help individuals find the greater version of themselves. Our mission is to care for children, adults and families with special needs and or life-changing medical and financial circumstances by providing services, support and funds that will be used for educational and medical enrichment.

It all started with four World Records.

In 2009, international mountain climbing expert Kevin Cherilla, along with guide Kristen Salcito Sandquist, led an expedition with 25 individuals to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Eight of them were blind.

Over 19,000 feet of elevation and several days later, every member of the team made the summit, breaking four world records in the process.

This historic climb turned out to be life changing — it managed to bring out the very best in all of us — and it proved that people could overcome their perceived limitations about themselves and others.

We knew in our hearts that this was the beginning of something transformative.

After some rigorous and inspired daydreaming, and with the support of the best Board of Directors ever assembled, we launched the K2 Adventures Foundation. Together, we committed to helping others get started on their greater path.

Nearly a decade later, we are still successfully combining philanthropy and community service to positively affecting the lives of individuals with life challenges and disabilities at home and around the globe.

Thanks to our outstanding supporters, K2 Adventures Foundation provides awards for people with life challenges and provides equipment, supplies, basic necessities and medical care to children, adults and families both domestically and abroad.
